Back our call to rewild the UK

We want to see land in the UK returned to nature, allowing animals and wildlife to flourish.

Right now, we have a climate crisis and rising global temperatures causing widespread problems for our natural world. Our environment is being harmed by pollution; deforestation is happening on a global scale.

If we continue down this path, we will continue to see natural habitats destroyed and a loss of wildlife.

We are calling for more land within the UK to be restored to a more natural state and protected from harmful activities. This plan can include reintroducing species back into the UK that have previously been lost.

These schemes will support wildlife and our environment whilst helping in the wider fight against climate change. Rewilding supports local communities by creating a healthier natural environment, promoting wellbeing and helping local economies with activities such as eco-tours.

Back our call and tell Angela Eagle and devolved governments to support rewilding.

Your support will help to rewild more areas of the UK and expand biodiversity. This will protect our environment and restore wildlife.

To Dame Angela Eagle DBE MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

We call on you and devolved governments to implement a new rewilding programme that spreads rewilding across the UK:

  • Create a national rewilding strategy which designates areas with a new "rewilding status"

  • Support rewilding projects which return land to nature

  • Support the reintroduction of animals that have previously been lost
