Build more homes

We are in the midst of a housing crisis; mortgages are at record highs and house prices continue to skyrocket. More and more young people are finding it impossible to get on the housing ladder, unlike their grandparents before them, and we are seeing house ownership tumble when it comes to the newer generations. Increasingly, fewer and fewer young people are homeowners, and this is a cause for concern. Everyone needs a place to call home, good and decent housing. And to do so, we need to boost the housing supply and simplify planning to help make this happen. We need to invest in more housing and we need to address this demand side with supply. There is no easy way around it. That is the simple truth.
