The future of devolution

At this event, we discussed the future of devolution in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Cornwall, and the devolution deals across England. It also included a Question and Answer session.

The Chair for this event was Cllr Will Barber-Taylor, Deputy Director (external). The panel included Lord Kinnock, the former Labour Leader; Suzy Davies, a former Member of the Senedd and Shadow Minister; Patrick English, the YouGov Associate Director; and Andrew George MP.

Lord Kinnock

Former Leader of the Opposition and Labour Leader

Neil Kinnock was the Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition for eight years. He was also Vice-President of the European Commission and a Member of Parliament. Neil currently sits in the House of Lords.

Suzy Davies

Former Member of the Senedd and Shadow Minister

Suzy was a Conservative member of the Senedd for ten years. She was the first woman to run to be Welsh Conservative leader, held several Shadow Ministerial positions, and was a member of multiple Senedd committees. Suzy is now Chair of Camlas Cymru, Women2Win Wales, and the ARAC committee for the Childrens Commissioner for Wales. She is also a Board Member for S4C, a patron of the Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival, a Trustee of Womens Equality Network Wales, and Deputy Chair of the Conservative Womens Organisation Wales.

Andrew George MP

Member of Parliament

Andrew is the Member of Parliament for St Ives.

Patrick English

YouGov Associate Director

Patrick is Director of Political Analytics at YouGov, Head of Elections and Political and Social Data, and YouGov's spokesman on political research.

Will was our Deputy Director and now serves as a Councillor. He hosts the Debated Podcast and the Not A Day For Soundbites Podcast. Will was previously the Digital Campaigns & Media Officer for Generation Rent.
