For a better politics

About the project

For a better politics is about creating a safer and more transparent political system. It is also about tackling the foundations of inequality in politics.

Our vision

Our plan to create a better political system focuses on removing those who are causing issues, allowing survivors to speak about issues in the system and expanding transparency around the political system.

A safer politics

We need to ensure political parties are safer for those involved. This means a new independent complaints body to handle party complaints, adding basic safeguarding standards in law and new guidance for vetting candidates.

Let survivors speak

We want to end the use of NDAs  silencing victims in politics and more widely within  organisations. These prevent issues being dealt with properly and people from speaking out about misconduct.

Increasing transparency

We need to increase transparency opening up our political system and showing how organisations work. This means new transparency measures around funding, influence and complaints.

Our work

This paper focuses on think tank transpareny within the UK. It includes rankings of every think tank within the UK, some of the major issues with the lack of transparency in the current system and proposes solutions which increase transparency.

Labour Against Antisemitism

The aim of Labour Against Antisemitism is to eradicate antisemitic abuse from within the Labour party. We will work together with them to improve complaints systems within politics.
